SNDMECA IndustrieThe materials worked

Daily, our teams produce parts in a wide range of alloys, superalloys, treated steels, and "exotic" materials that improve the technical characteristics of your products.

Nickel and cobalt-based superalloys are materials with excellent mechanical strength, good creep resistance at high and low temperatures, and good corrosion and oxidation resistance. This makes them indispensable in the aerospace propulsion, research, oil and gas, nuclear, and process industries.

These materials have high yield strength and resistance to tensile strength, fatigue, corrosion, and oxidation, even at high temperatures. Refractory alloys contain 35 to 75% nickel and 15 to 22% chromium.

These properties, which make nickel-based alloys a good choice for jet engine parts, or parts involved in offshore exploration and exploitation, also create significant machining difficulties. The cutting forces and edge temperatures are incredibly high due to the high shear stresses developed and the low thermal conductivity of the alloy. This, combined with the reaction of the nickel-based refractories with the tool material, results in hardening and adhesion of chips to the workpiece surface and excessive tool wear, limiting cutting speeds and productivity.
All these features contribute to lowering material removal rates and shorter tool life, resulting in high machining costs.

Titanium alloys, with their high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent corrosion resistance, make titanium alloy parts ideally suited for advanced aerospace systems. Alloys containing 86-99.5% titanium and 5-8% aluminum are resistant to almost any medium to which they would be exposed in an aerospace environment.

We manage our purchases, safety stocks, or entrusted materials with total traceability.
